Rachel Loftspring is a Partner at The Family Law and Fertility Law Group, where she practices Fertility Law exclusively. Rachel is widely recognized for her nuanced understanding of the complex legal issues surrounding surrogacy and third-party collaborative reproduction. As a Fertility Law attorney, Rachel is a trusted advisor to clients from the United States and around the world on family building. Her practice involves helping clients with surrogacy as well as egg, sperm, and embryo donation, and protecting families through step-parent adoptions and parentage actions. Her clients are intended parents and gestational carriers/surrogates, recipients and donors, adopting parents and consenting parents, individuals and couples, and of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Rachel’s practice is built upon a foundation of academic excellence. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, consistently ranked among the top law schools in the country. Her legal education culminated in her induction into the Order of the Coif, an honor bestowed on only the top 10% of a law school’s graduating class. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Emory University.

Rachel’s dedication to the field of Fertility Law extends to her involvement in professional organizations. Rachel is an ART Fellow of the prestigious Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, where only the most experienced attorneys are admitted following a rigorous peer-review process. Additionally, she is a member of the American Bar Association’s ART Committee, and a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Rachel is also actively involved in non-profit organizations and causes, including as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Fertility Foundation, for which she was recently awarded the Network of Jewish Human Services Agencies Lay Leadership Award. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community, Rachel was named Emory University’s Outstanding Alumnae of the Year in 2020.

Aside from her legal and community work, Rachel is an enthusiastic gardener, though she admits her skills could use some improvement. She is also preparing to publish her debut children’s book called Mila the Maker and the 200-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle. Rachel and her husband, Dan, live in Cincinnati with their two lively children: an artsy 8-year-old daughter and soccer-obsessed 6-year-old son.
